Cate Goetschius, Social Worker

Cate (she/her) is a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about building
strong therapeutic relationships as she walks alongside clients navigating life’s
challenges. Her approach is grounded in humanistic values and a belief in your inherent
worth, your capacity for growth, and your right to define your own path. As a queer
person, she understands the importance of being seen, heard, and affirmed – especially
in therapeutic spaces. With a warm and collaborative style the values curiosity over
judgement, Cate fosters a safe, supportive atmosphere where clients can explore their
inner experiences, strengthen relationships, and cultivate resilience.

Cate works eclectically, drawing from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models
that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy,
Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to
meet you where you are. She helps clients gain a deeper understanding of their
thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by exploring the patterns and experiences that
shaped them. Cate supports clients in uncovering the origins of their struggles and
finding new paths forward that align with their personal values. Whether exploring
identity, navigating life transitions, working through trauma, or unpacking the impact of
systems of oppression, Cate’s focus is always on a deep respect for your lived
experience.

Cate received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmons University and brings
clinical experience from working in a variety of settings. She sees clients both in-person
and virtually, and enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples. Outside of
therapy, Cate is a voracious reader who enjoys creating art in all its forms.
