Thank you for coming this far in your therapy journey. Sydney (she/her) is a social worker committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all people who walk into her office. Sydney’s approach seeks to celebrate the diversity of human experiences, particularly those in the Queer and Neurodivergent communities. Sydney recognizes the systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities, and utilizes a humanistic, systems, and strengths-based approach, along with a social justice-focused framework, to work alongside clients to cultivate self-acceptance, authenticity, resilience, and empowerment.
You are the expert in your own journey, and while societal norms often favor uniformity over individuality, Sydney believes that the therapy space is a unique place where the exploration of your own identity can begin and/or flourish. Sydney’s goal is to walk with you as you forge your own path through all of life’s changes and challenges, including navigating school, marriage, parenthood, exploration of gender or sexuality, and everything in between. Sydney pulls from a variety of modalities including humanistic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy to encourage change and growth, all while following your lead.
Sydney received her undergraduate degree from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, VT where she majored in Psychology with minors in gender studies and religious studies. After getting her undergraduate degree, she received her Masters in Social Work from University of Nevada, Reno. Sydney brings experience from a variety of settings and age ranges, including sober-living spaces, community-based therapy, and inpatient psychiatry. Outside of the therapy space, you can find Sydney outside (on a trail or in the garden), with a good book, or playing with her two black cats.
