This educational event equips participants with practical tools to deliver developmentally appropriate, medically accurate, and culturally responsive sex education across early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence. Attendees will explore inclusive strategies for teaching consent, bodily autonomy, boundaries, and communication that affirm diverse genders, sexual orientations, family structures, and abilities. The session also builds confidence in navigating questions, discomfort, and resistance from both children and adults, using trauma-informed, evidence-based, and affirming approaches to support healthy learning environments.
Course Objectives:
- Identify and apply developmentally appropriate, medically accurate, and culturally
responsive sex education topics across early childhood, middle childhood, and
adolescence. - Demonstrate strategies for teaching consent, bodily autonomy, boundaries, and
communication in ways that are inclusive of diverse genders, sexual orientations,
family structures, and abilities. - Develop skills to address questions, discomfort, and resistance—both from
children and adults—using trauma-informed, affirming, and evidence-based
approaches.]
This course will be offered virtually (synchronous) and will require pre-registration.
To receive Continuing Education credits an evaluation must be completed and submitted at the end of the course.
