Learn the essential components of ensuring you provide ethical services to support healthy sexuality. Whether you are an advocate, educator, or therapist; having a firm handle on ethical practices, boundaries, and languages will ensure you provide a safe and effective environment for clients to learn and explore their needs as it relates to sexuality and gender identity/expression. Topics will include ethical theories, informed consent, dual relationship potentials, concerns with couples/family therapy and secrets known to the provider, HIV/STIs, mandated reporting and when the law limits/influences sex/gender therapy.
Course objectives:
- Learn ethical theories and frameworks as they relate to sex therapy
- Learn ethical frame-works for decision making regarding sexual health concerns
- Learn what providing informed consent for all ages involves
This course meets the ethics requirement of Florida’s CSW/MFT/MHC board for licensure renewal.
This course will be offered virtually via Zoom, will require pre-registration, and will be recorded for quality assurance and evaluation purposes only.
To receive Continuing Education credits an evaluation must be completed and submitted at the end of the course.
This course meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists and is approved for 3 CE Credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification.
