This course will be investigating the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and its application to working with individuals who present with plurality/alters/constellations of identity. The spectrum of diagnosable presentation for DID will be discussed along with the intersections that may appear in gender expansive, transitioning clients, and those with internal conflict about their sexual identity/behavior.
Conceptual lensing and ethical practice guidelines will be given, with case examples and examination.
Course objectives:
- Learn what “parts” language is and how it intersects with “alters”
- Learn about differential diagnosis factors to DID and it’s intersections with treatment planning
- Explore ethical considerations when clients are seeking gender-affirming care that will have permanent change to the body
This course will be offered virtually via Zoom, will require prior-registration through purchase at least 3 hours in advance, and will be recorded for quality assurance and evaluation purposes only.
To receive Continuing Education credits an evaluation must be completed and submitted at the end of the course.
