This training explores how disability can shape sexual experiences and how clinicians can provide affirming, practical, and pleasure-centered support. Participants will examine how physical, sensory, and neurological disabilities may impact sexual activity, desire, and access to intimacy. The session will introduce a range of adaptive tools and equipment that can support comfort, communication, and sexual expression, while also building skills to collaboratively problem-solve sexual limitations with clients. Emphasis is placed on reducing stigma, honoring client autonomy, and expanding possibilities for sexual satisfaction and connection.
Course Objectives:
- Identify the various physical, sensory, and neurological disorders that can
interfere with sexual activity - Locate and describe various adaptive equipment that can be utilized to support
clients - Discuss and problem solve sexual limitations to improve client satisfaction with
sex life
This course will be offered virtually (synchronous) and will require pre-registration.
To receive Continuing Education credits an evaluation must be completed and submitted at the end of the course.
