Job Title: Billing Officer
Reports To: Practice Manager & Director

Compensation: $25-30 per hour
Location: Hybrid, 1-3 days in office
Position Summary:
The Billing Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial functions of the practice, including medical billing, filing/processing of paid claims, and verification of denied claims. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations (i.e. HIPAA). Part time hourly with potential to work toward full-time salaried / managerial position.
Essential Functions:
Financial Management of the practice, including managing insurance claims, client payments, tracking business expenses, and monthly/quarterly reporting.
Credentialing Liaison alongside Practice Manager for insurance companies and certifications maintained by the practice: quality assurance of documentation related to credentialing of mental health providers.
Customer Service hours as scheduled for coverage of main phoneline for general inquiries, scheduling needs of active clients, and relaying of messages to management as appropriate.

In addition to facilitating the above roles at Darling Mental Health the Billing Officer will also support the following activities and has shared duties with others regarding:
- Medical Billing and filing/processing of paid claims
- Verification of denied claims and trouble-shooting of clerical errors
- Summary reports to the Director / Practice Manager regarding income from billed services including: paid medical claims, group services, education, additional revenue from in-house and out-of-house consultations the company provides.
- Management of basic accounting needs including summary reports to the Director / Practice Manager of expenses, profit/loss, and reconciliations of errors/variances
