  1. Gender Inclusive Language and Communication – May 18, 2024 – $90

Review of terminology and languages used for best practice for engaging with gender diverse individuals and those who are questioning their gender identity. This course will include targeted understanding of framing, evaluating, and communicating a person’s preparedness and mental/emotional/social readiness to begin medical transitioning with the use of cross-sex hormone treatment.   1. Family Interventions for Gender Diverse Minors – July 6, 2024 – $90

Techniques for engaging family members of a gender diverse minor for which unique challenges for therapists may exist and often demand a dual presentation of languages. Conceptualization of cis-gender default lensing in language juxtaposed to trans-inclusive language, validation of multiple viewpoints, and negotiation towards safe and effective development of relationships are the primary focuses of this training. This training examines the relationship religious beliefs have to the way a person perceives and judges their body, sensuality, sexuality, and agency/freedom to explore one’s desires and needs. Themes of shame, guilt, fear, and worry about sexuality will be addressed. More…

  1. Compassion for Arabs – September 14, 2024 – $90

This workshop explores what propaganda and cultural lensing exists in common American languages, intersectional concepts of the Arab world that affect sex therapy, and diversity in the Arab world’s religions, politics, ethnicities, etc. that often affects sex therapy: building rapport, therapeutic buy-in, degree of disclosure, and permission to step outside of “tradition.” More…

This course is focused on exploring the importance of fantasy in a person’s life as it intersects with their sexuality and relationships.   1. Intersections with Dissociative Disorders – TBD

This course will be investigating the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and its application to working with individuals who present with plurality/alters/constellations of identity. The spectrum of diagnosable presentation for DID will be discussed along with the intersections that may appear in gender expansive and transitioning clients.*
